Explore historical and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, autobiographies, essays and plays. You will develop analytic and creative writing skills, and explore how different oral and written texts have impacted cultures around the world.

The English Honours program includes a creative writing unit (not offered every year), and the option of a creative writing topic for the Honours Research Project. The University’s Cultural Environment and Heritage program provides for a limited number of creative writing placements in Tasmanian cultural institutions.
The Master of Arts (English) can be undertaken with a creative writing topic.
